Will people ever understand the importance of missions?

It is amazing how many people sit in a church on any given Sunday. They worship through coming, sitting and leaving. We walk through our everyday lives with blinders on to the world around us because we think we have so so many problems.

The problem is that don't want to see a lost and dying world changed. We believe that culture will change people through the economy, politics and through people helping people in the world. People helping people is great, especially when the Gospel of Christ is being shared.

It makes me wonder if people that sit in the church, really believe that Christ is the only way to salvation (John 14:6)? In all honesty I know where I stand on the issued, where do you stand?

Our mission field is wide open. It is around us everyday and it is a far from the east to the west. When is missions going to become important to the true believers of the faith, when is evangelism going to become important true believers of the faith, and when will true discipleship start talking place. Those areas are all important and vital to the Great Commission.

I think about these things on a daily basis because we ask about the man on the island, but we aren't willing to go to the man on the island. We ask about the woman at the mall, but we aren't willing to go out of our way to minister to her. We ask about why 1 in 4 people in the world are Muslim http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,562101,00.html, but we don't do anything to make a meaningful impact or eternal change in their life!

So, what is important to us?

Families On Mission

Families on Mission has started their registration for summer 2010. These trips are great opporunities for families to attach a mission trip to their family vacation, or serve on a mission trip instead of a vacation during the summer. I have had the opportunity to be involved with Families on Mission and it was a great experience.

Here is the Families on Mission website if you have any questions or would like more information: http://www.namb.net/site/c.9qKILUOzEpH/b.1342843/k.F363/Families_on_Mission.htm
